PRESERVE

“Preserve” is an apocalyptic sci-fi western about aliens, or “Visitors,” who land on Earth in rock-like spaceships, causing the near-extinction of humanity due to a bioengineered illness. The main characters need to grapple with artificially evolved animals and people, and those left on the planet are reverting to brutal ways to survive. Later, it is revealed that the aliens are using Earth as a terraformed hunting preserve for their enjoyment.

There are side storylines of battles between evolved advanced animals, most of which escaped zoos and formed successful civilizations, and humans are no longer at the top of the food chain.

Dennis is a 16-year-old boy, left orphaned and alone by the disease. Isolated in his hometown, he decides to venture out of his resourceless neighborhood to find supplies or anyone to talk to. Captured by brutal marauders ruled by the local corrupt Sheriff, he must find a way to escape— or possibly join them.

Nat, or Natalia, is a 17-year-old girl, stuck at home alone when the tragedy strikes. With both parents abroad, she's left to fend for herself and her pet bird, Owen, as chaos erupts in her town just north of the Capitol.
